I'm curious as to why people are still obsessed with this man, even though he's dead and gone? Here's my theory, he's probably in your kitchen going to town in your frigerator!

Elvis Presley was so very, very talented!!! He had a beautiful voice and no one looked better when he was young. He sang rock'n roll, ballads, blues and gospell. He is not in my "frigerator" going to town. He is in Heaven with God. Elvis was a very God-oriented man. Elvis was a very well-respected singer and musician. He was so very talented. That is why people still buy his music and respect what he did.

You know, I really don't know. I was just a teenager when Elvis died. I always loved him though. I have been to Graceland at least 6 times or more. It still facinates me. I took my small children a few times, they still listen to Elvis's music.

He's just so popular in people's minds, I don't think his legacy will ever die. I mean the president taking the prime minister to visit Graceland, that is really something. I guess in a way, he was different from so many famous people. He was so real. The rags to riches thing. Don't we wish we could all be like him, except for the drug addiction.

Number one in the Bible Belt. What else is new. Can it teach them to get an education and not be married with 3 kids before they turn 16?

I have to say I'm not obsessed with Elvis. But the guy Rocks in his time, and still today. I don't mind listening to him every now and then. Rhythm and Blues.

1. because he was so talented
2. he represented so many different things for so many people.
3. he was the true begining of rock music.
4. if you really listen to the words to most of his songs they are timeless.
Besides he was pretty darn hot.
I am 46 and I remember exactly what I was doing the he died.
Now I have 2 grandbeauties that love Elvis too. So another generation to pass on the love of Elvis.

Because remembering him takes us back to a time when our lives were simpler and we had more time to enjoy life. Today, it's rush-rush-rush from morning 'til night. We have so little time for our families and pursuits outside of work. This is why reruns of "The Andy Griffith Show" and "I Love Lucy " are still so popular-- because they take us back to a time when life wasn't such a pressure cooker; when life was ours to live and not owned by our jobs.

I'm not. And when I hear a radio station say he invented Rock-n-roll I call and set them straight. It was Chuck Berry who is still alive and well. He even still plays shows.

Why is America still obsessed with the "late" 2Pac?

Elvis was the best, period.
He didn't make Rock n' Roll, he made Rock n' Roll controversial.

Why are we still obsessed with the Beatles? Because he/they are talented. Just because someone dies, doesn't mean that we forget them. He was the King of Rock N Roll. He's a Hall of Famer....Rock, country and gospel.

Well I am Elvis so I dont know why th US is obsessed with me.
hehe.

Nah, I dunno, he was very cool, drug problems, drink, women, weight problems. So typical of great people.

He was a very interesting person.

Not like the 'popstars' we have today. I cant see Timberlake staying up for days wacked out on painkillers shooting his TV and then going on stage doing a sell out show and looking immaculate.
