Maybe you can. But how would you be able to determine that the horse was learning it?
Horses don't have opposable thumbs, so they can't write. They can't speak either. Thus, the only communication we can get from them is emotional, from body language. You'd have to devise a means of suitable communication before you could begin to teach it the symbolic analysis which allows you to do parametric differentiation.

Because i don't really know about parametric differentiation so i wouldn't be a very good teacher. I kick *** at leading horses to water though.

The old saying - "You can lead a horse to the water, but you can't make it drink" is horribly wrong, anyone who's ever worked or been around horses knows that, if the horse didn't want to go to the water, then it wouldn't.
