we still have racist people in the world when it's 2006!! Why are people still racist? It's horrible how people continously make comments that are prejudice and racially stereotypical.
It's so sad that we STILL can't even come together and learn from each other and live peacefully (IT'S 2006!!)

I very much agree with you, I think that people just need to grow up and learn to live and treat others with the respect and dignity we alll deserve.

There's racist people because there's still hate in this world. As long as there's hate there's gone to be racism. Most people choose to hate people for all kinds of reasons, like someone may hate that you asked the question that you asked. People have a lot against people who aren't like them, even though there's people racist against their own race. Because there's some people who are filled with hate. People also hate what they don't understand or like and what's different and different from them. There's people who also believe what their told.

I fully agree...At least once every time I come on here I see someone being racist towards Mexicans, or African-Americans, and even Jews. As a Jew it hurts to see people accusing us of 'getting away with mass murder and genocide' and all that crap, but I guess a lot of people are still close-minded and never will realize that racism gets us no where...It's sad, but it's true.

Yes, I agree with you. However, all of humankind is to blame. You will find predjudice no matter where you go. I've always wondered if we were born sightless if that would help. We couldn't see differences in appearance or skin color.

But on the other hand, we'd for sure come up with a DIFFERENT way to judge each other. . .

I heard this theory that the progession towards equality has been something like this:
at first when humans got the hang of communicating they eventually built on the clans , the first US vs THEM mentality, and formed bigger communities but anyone outside of the community wasn't included and there was the next progression in US vs THEM mentality, the US got bigger, as time went on and US came to mean bigger and bigger groups all the way up to nationalism. People who still hold on to this and don't see humanity as one are living in the past, its unfortunate but they will eventually be overcome like all the peoples who refused to adapt to the times.

I think people are so used to making racial comments that they just come out as a habit. I don't think the majority of people really mean what they are saying. I hope not anyway. We need to love one another. NOW LETS PARTY!

Racism knows no bounds or colors. It's better to take the high road when possible. A Great Man once said "the moral arc of the universe is long - but it bends towards justice" ...We should all try to be just in our dealings with others......

Small (unempowered) people need to identify others who are even smaller, so that they can feel themselves to be more important than they actually believe they are.

What would the believer be without the infidel? The homophobe without the homosexual? The righteous without the damned?

Could you believe that yours was "the chosen people" without the corrolary belief that other peoples were somehow lesser beings?

because its so easy to be a racist and blame someone else on ones own shortcomings.too many people are too lazy or too stupid to better themselves and instead lay blame on someone else because of it.
this is an observation as i am not a racist.
i believe we are each responsible for our selves.we are the only one responsible and trying to lay the blame elsewhere is only a cop out.

Well, someday....in the far off future, when all these races can admit that we are all just one race, humans, we will do away with racism. However, as long as they want spacial treatment and to be different, they are not normal and are not like us. They are them. They need to change, not us normal Americans.
