He agitated minor incidents with the Ref and against his fellow team mate Rooney! What really annoyed me was when Rooney got sent off, Ronaldo walked away with a smirk and winked at a Portugese team mate. His unsporting conduct is not worthy.

I should add I think Rooney's stamp was out of order and worthy of a red card (as I predicted about his temper on another Yahoo Answer). He was going to go - but Ronaldo in that situation and many others throughout the game tried to inflame reaction. There is no way I am suggesting Rooney is a saint - but he is too dim to connive and has too much of a temper to subdue it.

It`s not often I admit to being wrong but last week there was a question about christian ronaldo about him leaving Manchster United and the way I feel about him at the moment I would personally put him out the door. I said he would`nt be leaving Manchester United as he was contracted to them until 2010 but After what I & million`s of people saw when he whispered in Wayne Rooney`s ear then to butt him in the back of the neck just to wind him up ( remembering this happened before we had even kicked off ) I am ashamed he (ronaldo) ever put on a Manchester United shirt, and I can only hope that Wayne does what they said might happen when they go back to Old Trafford and that he ( Wayne ) punches his light`s out. that`s if he comes back I hope he never does.As you say that wink & smirk made him the worse type of cheating ratbag I have seen for a long time. Unsportsman Conduct at it`s WORSE. I just hope whoever win`s tonight makes sure he (ronaldo) has nothing to smirk at again. He might be playing for portugal not ENGLAND but surely that dosent mean he has to stoop so low as to wind Wayne up even before kickoff (checkhimout5) I dont know how you can say Wayne meant to stamp on carvalho, when he was playing one against two he was not looking to see where he was (carvalho) he was looking how to get the ball back to his other team mates. I have watched the incident again and I still believe it was a accident, unless Wayne had eyes in the back of his head he could`nt have seen where he was putting his foot as he had his back to carvalho but that`s my opinion

I agree with you about Ronaldo's unsporting behaviour (actually I thought that the ref didn't appear to be intending to send Rooney off before the Portugeuse players influenced his descision). This behavour is not unusual for Ronaldo, I have never liked him due to the 'extras' he has in his game (diving, mouthing and all sorts of cheating) which frankly I think is crazy because he is a superb player and has great skill so why does he feel the need to cheat? Unfortunately with an Argentinian referee England weren't exactly favoured in the officals decisions during the course of the whole game. However, England players have got to learn not to be baited and not get themselves sent off. It did appear a very obvious (and sucsessful) attempt to get Rooney sent off and I don't think Rooney will get on well with Ronaldo after this and may even return compliment. What really rubbed it all in for me was that Ronaldo scored the goal that booked our plane home.

Scolari's team always cheats and plays dirty. Both England and Holland played better than Portugal. Hope Ronaldo never plays in the Premiership again! Ronaldo couldn't have been that injurred with such a big grin, winking at a team mate - how's that for good sportmanship? Personally, I think he knew how to wind up Rooney.

1. its CRISTIANO ronaldo. get it right.

2. they're playing for their countries. if ronaldo made the same offence, rooney would have done the same thing.

3. ronaldo did not cheat. where did he cheat? excuse me? as far as im concern, everyone (aside from england supporters, for obvious reasons) thought ronaldo played a superb game. where have u been?

4. i think the red card was harsh. but there's no reason to point the finger at ronaldo. ronaldo is a portugal player, he's only human.

5. on a neutral point of view, rooney should have controlled his temper and ronaldo shouldn't have said anything.

He was unsporting ???
What about Rooney - stomping on another man's family jewels is hardly good behavoiur ???
Then pushing another player , while standing beside the ref ???
What match were you watching? If Ronaldo was the one sent off you would not be complaining now, would you?
Why, everytime a decision goes against England, do people always blame everyone except the English players?
Don't get so agitated - ITS ONLY A GAME !

There is no way on this green Earth that the groin stamp was intentional.... pure accident. i have checked it out in super slow motion Rooney didn't even know where his footing was ...it was a scramble.
I would think that Ronaldo will be hounded out of The premier league within three months. He'll probably suffer a mystery iIlness as a result of someone urinating in his lucozade.
Ironically he wont be much more welcome in Spain {beckham} or Germany { hargreaves }
Alex Fergusson will probably be smirking somewhere on a far off beach right now though...with a whisky to celebrate.

Thank you! Someone who agrees with me :D ( I agree with you too MacSteed and nannydoney!)

I hope to God he gets booed every time he walks out of that Tunnel, and every time he gets the ball.

Were we watchin the same game ITZA? There was a clear smirk and wink when Ronaldo got what he had planned! What a cheating ****!

That smirk + wink annoyed me soooo much, you could see that sending off Rooney was his aim. I think he had that planned, bring down England through one of there best strikers.

He deserved a sending off himself.

He is too full of himself and i hope he gets brought down, (hopefully by Rooney but everyone else too would also be nice)

Portugal should be ashamed if that's how they win their games. At least England has tact and decorum and decent, honest hardworking men, who simply deserved to win.

We Still And Always Will Love You England

Perhaps not, but Rooney's obvious intentional stamp in the Portugal player's groin was abominal. Certainly even more unsporting.

And if Ronaldo gets a rude welcome by his English club, it's really their own fault for not supporting young English players and having to look to other countries for them.

Re: your additional point above. Im not buying it. Im astonished that even in defeat, English fans always find an excuse for their predictably dull performances.

Sorry, they're just not of a high enough standard.

Rooney did not stamp on his gonads!! It wasn't as bad as it was made to look, and, yes, Cristian Ronaldo is a cheating ****. I can't imagine he will get a good reception at all. I've noticed that he drops for a foul call far too much for my liking anyway.

Yeah but his country comes first not his club! And i did see him wink at a player but do u even know what it was for?! It could've had nothing to do with rooney!! that didn't look like a smirk to me. more a smile of disgust for rooney's actions!!

Just stop it will ya?!!. What Rooney did was intolerable, mean and sick-minded. Something you wouldnt expect from a Professional footballer at the world cup. Obviously he's not one!

Wayne Rooney has to grow up.And grow up fast or else he will not become what so many fans are hoping of him - one hell of a good marksman with style, skill, diginity and professionalism!!
