The way the scoring system works, you get significantly more points for a "Best Answer" than you do for a answering any random question, and you're limited in the number of questions you can answer in a day.

This means that you get the best score when you answer for people known to award "Best Answer" (like me), but also that you're wasting your 20 questions if you answer a "fun" question that probably won't get a "best answer" rating, like "Why ask why?"

This means that over time, the system gets driven to more informative answers from the seasoned users, but fewer answers for questions that are just plain fun if people are afraid they won't get as much credit for them.

I am awarding best answer points to whomever gives a good workaround for this problem or another way to look at it that might make it seem more positive.

Multiple accounts? You could use a second account to answer the fun questions. It's not much of a workaround, but if you want to have more answers without engaging in questionably illegal activites, this seems like a safe bet.

The reason they probebly put a limit on how many Q's one can answer is so that it stays fair.
If some one was on Yahoo Answers 24/7 (no life LOL), then they CAN answer more then you thus get more points. If all they do is try to get 2 pointers and 1 points to Q's and NOT care about a REAL good answer then it would make people less concered to give GOOD helpfull answers.

On the other hand, you still need fun.
So what you do instead is you pick an choose,
yes have fun now and then, and also remeber to pick answers that you think you can answer currectly thus getting mega points.

Personally I Iike the limit of how many Q's you can ask,
and how many Q's you can Answer... Why???
Because, it stops people from becoming overly addicted to Yahoo Answers too, or spamming it full of unrelated Questions...
(think about it, you don't want your server filled up with boggus Q's... and you don't want to get sued for someone becomming an addict to your site either)

I DO NOT think there should be a limit on how many Q's you can vote for or how many Q's you can rate... Why???
Because anyone who can sit through and READ all of that, should get points for it, and if they want to waste their time doing that ALL day, at least it'll help someone and they may learn something along the way themselves too.

According to me this is not actually a 'flaw' in the scoring system. Though i am new to yahoo answers i surely understand that it was created so as to help people. The more plausible the answer is, the better it is. I think that if the answers and questions over here were asked a bit more seriously then this site could become a sort of library where people can actually find solution to their woes! Thus the scoring system in fact works in such a way that people can restrain from writing some silly answer and try to find out a solution to the questions asked!

no longer attempting to disagree with you, yet i presumed i'd throw yet another concept into the ring. sure, I dislike plagiarism. It surpassed off to me too. yet checking for reproduction solutions isn't honest on purchasers who're attempting to earn factors - legally. Say...for instance - in action picture area, even as the asker opt to ascertain the call of a movie. Or inquiring for a popularity of a e book. there is in person-friendly words one brilliant answer. What are the purchasers meant to do? do not answer in any respect once the superb answer is given? Then how does one earn factors if we received't answer with an same words? those who're obsessed factors and use element gaming to get them will be got here across out and US - the purchasers right here have the capacity to do something about it. it really is person pushed talk board. we may be able to do something about it. As a set, we may be able to help safeguard this web site. If Yahoo! has to do each and every of the artwork, and exercising total administration over it, then we received't somewhat call this position a Y!A "community" , can we? Cheers from Australia

Honestly I really don't think they thought it out. Ya the scoring system is flawed. They should really come up with a system that can track ages and how many characters are entered so people who just say yes or no get don't get points it has to get alittle tighter

As you answer more questions you gain more points. The more points you have the higher level you achieve. Having a higher level allows you to answer more questions, thus eliminating your worry about wasting time, with little to no benefit, on fun questions.

I'd have to disagree. After a while, you gain levels, and with higher levels you can give more answers. If you actually use every answer credit you have each day, then you will get unlimited answers in no time.
