I would be the happiest person on Earth. I think porn should be illegal as well. It's disgusting and degrading.

If you are a believer then you would/should know it already is illegal in Gods law. If you are a nonbeliever then I need to let you know that this is a great sin. The problem is that we the people look at it as a way of life now, which is a shame. So people commit this act without giving it a second thought. It is not only a sin,but in most of the time it ends up hurting the people we love most. And I have to ask for what, a quick" feel good" to ones' physical and mental ego? Sometimes this act is committed and then everyone goes on about their business and sometimes no one finds out about it and you think, Oh I got away with it. Even if you regret it and asked for God's forgiveness and received it, come judgment day you will still be held accountable.

Technically adultery is still illegal on the books, it is just not punished by the law anymore. If it is morally wrong wrong and people still do it I don't think the illegal part of it would have any effect. However, this is usually taken into consideration in divorce settlements. Personally I think it is illegal and should be punished as you are breaking a contract, but then again, I would not like to see the courts, jails or other facets of the legal system overloaded due to the illegal nature of adultery as it is so common and costs all the taxpayers money whether they are adulterous or not.

Am I missing something? Adultery is illegal, that is why it is grounds for divorce. Just because people do it and don't get put in jail for it does not make it legal. (Please note: You can only commit adultery if you are married, some people don't seem to understand this). By the way (for all of those who have been cheated on) happily married people do not have affairs, The problem comes from within the person him/herself or from the relationship between the married couple.

There should be. The damage it does to the spouse is so devastating. It is really a crime against another person that causes an intense long lasting pain. If I had to choose between getting my *** kicked and knifed or having to deal with the divorce pain (caused by an affair) that I am going through I would say bring on the *** kickin.

There already is, it's in the Bible.
I think the punishment should be harsh, because of the heartache it causes, not only for the person it happened to but what about the children involved there's no excuse for adultery.
If you can't see loving the person your going to marry for the rest of your life don't marry them.
No the grass is not greener on the other side it just looks that way but once you get there you realize the grass is dead only painted to look that way.

It's not good because it's getting two far involved in a person's personal life. Not good for the government to do that, (seperation of church and state -THANK YOU) but look at all the other laws! I'd rather adultery be illegal than gay sex and the reefer.

it wouldn't change anything for one, for two what is the penalty going to be..jail? yeah right put cheaters in prison to get messed up by hard core criminals and watch the law suits pile up, who is going to do the policing here? and do we give the space in prison to drug addicts and murderers who are already being released far too early because there is no room left or to the guy who dunked his dinky where he shouldn't have? not to mention the loss of their jobs and their inability to support their families financially, which hurts only the people that he cheated on in the first place so in reality they are punished too. its just isn't reasonable or feasible, the best thing to do is move on with your life if you experience this sad situation.

So if they go to jail, start doing their call mate, get moved to a different jail, do the new cell mate, they are now cheating on tier original call mate, when with the original cell mate they were cheating with their spouse. Can you see how this would turn out? People would be in jail forever with this cycle.

I would absolutely LOVE it and be in heaven!! You have NO idea how many people I would have put in jail for this, especially my ex husband (he had a 4 year affair along with many other affairs during the 20 years we were together).
