i definitely agree...i think that England is the better team. if Portugal is good they could have scored a goal and won instead of winnin in the penalty shootout...i still think England should have won becuz they are definitely the better team. think about it Beckham had an injury, Rooney got a red card, and Joe Cole was subbed out...that left England wit a few good players and Portugal didnt even score...so think about it...who is the better team? the answer is England

England played 100% better after Rooney was sent off.
Probably because all through this thing we have been told how brilliant he is & when he went the other players could shine.
However, no-one reckoned on his childish temper tantrums , did they? To hear the media before this match you would have thought that he was going to be the only English player on the field.
At the end of the day, they lost. But never mind, IT'S ONLY A GAME.

Thank you! Finally something positive for us England fans =D
They played well, they played hard, but overall they played with determination and heart. Hargreaves was amazing as were the others. They put everything they had into the game and deserved to win.
Cheap players like Ronaldo, and oscar winning divers helped to push England sadly out.
Refs should not be influenced by the acts of other players like Ronaldo, in fact pestered like that deserve carding.
They gave it there all and came out in our (or at least a few of our) eyes as heroes. May Ronaldo be booed by everyone at Man U --> at every game and attacked by Rooney
Well done them and
WE STILL LOVE YOU ENGLAND

My compliments to the English team, but you know sometimes losing a player summons up all the best in all the others, so they make up for it. No big deal. England still has good players, no one is gonna take that away from you. It's just that Portugal even without 2 very influential players, several others that had to be extremely careful because they had yellow cards from the previous game, and another influential player not yet fully recovered from injury, even so Portugal was superior. Get over it.

The way Portugal were playing the ball around the area trying to walk it in they were never going to score. If England had been reduced to ten against a half decent attacking force you wouldn't have had to worry about penalties. Having said that they did put more effort into the game once they lost captain marvel - but then they couldn't have tried any less.

Amanda C and Rosicky Rules have said it all.
England did brill. We lost on penalties - a hard way to go out - to a cheating side. Its pretty tough, but its just a game so lets get on with life. And as for Ronaldo... just wait until you are back in the premiership I reckon you are going to be out with a few injuries before long. Good luck - you'll need it when you get back here.

I agree. I thought Peter Crouch played a blinder and think it was a shame that he wasn't in the starting line up. It was a shame because I didn't think Portugal deserved that win. And yes, Cristian Ronaldo practices his dives and rolls while the others are practicing set pieces and free kicks. Cheating ****, I hated the fact that his penalty decided our fate in the end.

I couldn't agree with your more, Schrek76. But that argie bargie ref was determined to see portugal through to the semifinals.
No worries, the Three Lions will rise again and silence our Scottish, Irish and Welsh "friends," once and for all.
ENGLAND FOREVER!!!

Really?
When did England look like scoring?
What is there to be proud of having ten men?
England has loads of world-class players.
Aye, right.
