What are you doing with your degree now? I am working on my English BA and am curious about what others have done with this type of degree.

I am teaching English in a Middle (7th and 8th grade) school. Depending on what state you live in you would have to take additional Education classes for a teaching credential, but if you love English/Language Arts, it is a great career.
Teaching English also involves drama, journalism, etc. and Education classes train you to teach English Language Learners without having to speak their native language.
I have it found it to be a rewarding and a rich subject that develops young people and prepares them for life.

Library Science is good. I attended several lectures during my school days on what English majors could do with their degrees after graduation...and besides teaching English...some of the suggestions were librarianship, technical writing, and becoming a lawyer.

many of my friends in college did have BA or BS in Education with specialty in English.

There are a great deal of things to do... go into editing... marketing (low level) business admin lots of public works jobs are available (id you are in big city) political aspirations.

Overall it is a fairly versatile degree although many people do not believe so. I suppose that also depends on whether you are willing to return for a Masters and also on to what degree you aspirations reach.

I have one (since 1999) and have been a housewife ever since! I can't get a good job here without a masters degree or some other bachelors! I want to go back to school! :(

Teach, write, communications. It's nice to find people who can write and speak in complete sentences without dumbing down to "ur" and IM garbage like that.
