You keep your hand at the bottom of the grip, but you switch grips depending on what shot you want to hit.

Most of the time, you keep it at the bottom of the grip. In advanced play, some players will intentionally "choke up" a few inches on the grip to give a little more control on a chip return shot.

Keep your hands on the bottom of the grip. It produces more power, conrol, and spin than on the top. My friend's biggest tell of when she is getting tired is to grab the racquet at the top of the grip with her finger actally though the frame, so when she does this, I make her run even more back and forth, and even toss in a few more drop shots.

Most of these answers are wrong. Holding the racquet at the bottom of grip will NOT give you more control. It gives you more leverage which translates to more power. Choking up on the grip gives much more control but hard to get more racquet head speed.

I keep my hands at the bottom of the grip because it is more comfortable and the racket doesn't go flying out of my hands.
