Take a practice test (college board has a free online one that you print out) and found out your strengths and weaknesses.
*moving faster
*reading more carefully
*not knowing enough vocabulary
*etc.

Work on specific weaknessess. Buy a book. Make sure to learn some vocabulary everyday and if you have trouble on the essay, then find some practice SAT essay questions online, and answer one each day or every couple days.

Study and try to keep the studing consistent because if you try and study it all at once a week before the test, you might not remember it as much.

I recommend collegeboard's "blue book" or barron's for math.
Barron's has a good critical reading and writing section so does the blue book.

I am using Maximum SAT by peter edwards which comes needs to be used with the blue book and come with drills and plan, what you should do each day.

I have to study for mine too.
GOOD LUCK with yours :)

Studying is good, but it is not enough. You have to practice. Practice makes perfect. Do practice tests and become familiar with the types of questions on the SAT. Study and practice the math so you know all the rules and the tricks. For the critical reading section, you have to have a lot of vocabulary. Vocabulary is the key. In the writing section, I would say to know all the grammar rules and practice identifying mistakes. Read a lot, especially newspapers and magazines so you know what is going on in the world. That way you may have some examples for the essay.

this is my theory on the SAT, first of all, you cannot possible "study" for such a large test. while the booklets are helpful, they cannot teach you years worth of material that you should already know. the hard part of the SAT for me was the reading comprehension, because you get so sick of reading that you skip over things and start not caring. a good area to focus on is the word comparison (not sure what it's called) for example:
friend:coworker as bee:hive
I just remember having a very difficult time with stuff like that (I took this over 10 years ago, so it's probably changed by now). don't over react to the test, you can take it again if you don't do well....good luck!

Sudy your math and English. Read dictionaries and learn vocabulary. Take fake SAT tests and go over them to find out what you answered wrong. Think through any essay question to organize your thoughts into clear, concise sentences.

Study, stay calm, and don't think about them. Don't study just what you know and pay specific attention to the things you have the most trouble with at school. What you're great at will save you from failing, but knowing what you're bad at will help to increase your score.

Ask your professor or another teacher for help or what are the expectations with the test or a perticular section. Also ask your parents for extra just the best of it.
