I changed out the master brake cylinder
I changed out the shoes

It becomes difficult to press down on the brake pedal after a few miles. Then the brakes freezes and hampers forward motion. The car becomes driveable after releasing brake fluid from the wheel or letting the car rest for an hour. What causes this?

Collapsed flexible brake line going to brake calipers and wheel cylinder.
The collapse internally and only let the pressurized brake fluid seep very slowly back.
Change all four or however many you have. You could have 3 or 5 of them.

front end damage to your car!!
make sure the air is bled out completely and that the rear brakes aren't adjusted too tight

porportioning valve can be at fault or the brake booster listen for vaccum leaks on the booster sometimes the eng will not let you hear this

The rest may be due to a chip in your car.
Take it in.
Now, many cars do not have a direct linkage from the peddle to the brakes.

probably wrong,but my guess would be air in the lines,,try bleeding them !!!!!
