I didn't realize "I hate magazines" was a question. I agree some of the women presented in magazines are too skinny. But there are plenty of fit women magazines and I don't see what's wrong with that. Magazines should be presenting healthy women not just skinny women.

I don't HATE all magazines, but some DO dissapoint me. Like J-14, and M. The main idea of it is too be a thin size 0, eat NO CARBS, have a tanned body, make out with cutttttttttte guys, and have very big brest. That really angers me that these mags start a whole conflict about female teens and their body, it is disquesting! But Teen Vogue is one that actually warns about stuff like that, for example, in their June/July issue they talked about the Cons of tanning, and I think in their May or April issue they talked about the effects of pericings. As well, they talk aboutbad energy drinks, staying out drunk at night, but they do have fashion sense too.

Though some mags have good advantages to them and warn us, mostr don't!

What would you prefer to see on the magazine.

It's kind of like when you see something beautiful you take a second look.
Or perhaps the Headline is of some interest you take a second look.

Besides not everyone is focused on their appearance even though we have to look at that person.
We all place different values of being well manicured.

Who do you know is thrumpy ? Is that appealing ? and then Who do you know dresses nicely & keeps them self cleaned up.

Is that unkept visual something that would attract you to buy the magazine.

It's all about marketing.

I don't read Cosmo, Glamour, and Allure. I read what I am comfortable with. I am love Essence because it reflects me. I read CK, SS, and other scrapbooking magazine. I love Racheal Ray and Paula Deens cooking mags. You have the power to get what reflects you. DOn't let the magazines dictate to you.
