I was driving and all the electrical power shut completely off. No nothing...........I thought I was locked in at first! What causes this? After about 10 minutes it started up and all was fine. Any ideas?

First thing to check is your battery cables ends where they connect to the battery.gm had a problem with electrolyte"acid"leaking out of the battery -especially on the positive post side. remove the cable from the battery for inspection-if you see anything other than clean, dry, uncorroded metal showing ,then you need to clean/or replace the cable ends.It is very unlikely that the alternator has failed-if it had-you would not be able to re-start the vehicle and drive away.If the side posts on the battery are wet with electrolyte then it should be replaced during your repair.good luck!

ok, first be affected man or woman and do not get "rammy" ok. strong. flow all the way down to autozone or a elements save and grab a door take care of remover device..about 5 greenbacks. you want this to get off the door take care of. Take it off. look lower than the arm relax for 2 plastic plugs or 2 screws, way down deep in a hollow. Take out the screws. Now..very heavily take a flat scraper and insert it between the door panel and the door body on the bottom and slide it alongside. even as it stops transferring, gently pry up, and the plastic retainer clip[s will enable flow. you acquire about 8 of them. Door panel could now come off. be affected man or woman and do not stress something. seek for hidden fasteners or wires if this happens strong success

You bought a Buick. That should answer your question. Next time go with a Ford, I've a Ford Ranger with 230,000 miles and have never had a problem

Have your alternator checked out. You can take it off and go to O'Rielys and have it tested there. Or if you have a fluke or volt meter at home just use it and see if it is reading 14 or more volts. If not you definitley need a new alternator.
