Get any messenger, yahoo, msn, aim.
Go to either these sites and look for messengers and download them they will walk you through it.

If you go to www.msn.co.uk you can download messenger which is the tool you need to chat online with however this only works if you know peoples msn identity. So the next bit is to find someone to talk to if you go to www.yahoo.co.uk and register. this will enable you to enter a cyber room where all sorts of people hang out just enter the lounge and start a conversation --- try to be a bit funny or rude that generally gets you noticed. hope this helps also try asking your friends for their msn identity you'll be surprised at the responses you will get. take care have fun d

I would recommend you download Yahoo Messenger frrom http://www.yahoo.com and also Windows Live Messenger *MSN is dead http://get.live.com/messenger/overview
These are the most popular Messenger systems for chatting, but I would recommend Skype if you want to chat verbally by buying a headset with microphone or an IP Phone.

well lyk every1 else said u should get a messenger but if u wanna meet new people den get yahoo messenger and go to chat an join chat rooms and meet alot of new people!!!

There are loads of chatting sites & messengers. I recommend Y! messenger, you can have a friend list there, etc.

There are others like MSN, ICQ, Jabber, Google Talk, etc.
Do a search in google.

if you would like yo chat with family or friends. all you need to do is set up an e-amil account with yahoo, hotmail, ect which also offer you to set up a messenger. hope this help.
