"The Stand" is absolutely my favorite Stephen King novel, and I've read most of them. The story is very compelling and believable, even if it does involve supernatural elements. If you've never read it, you'll be amazed at how good it is!

The Stand. Sympathetic characters you can relate to. Supernatural elements in it keep the fast-paced plot going. Once you start it, you won't be able to put it down. It's King's masterpiece.

The Shining. Way superior to the movie and very rich character development. IT is good too, but I am not comfortable with the child sex scene!
