a max contract for an undersized aging center with no offense we will see. i am a piston fan and loved watching him and hope he resigns but at a max contract Chicago can have him we can sign Joel Pryzbilla from Portland also a good defender at a reasonable price

It would be impossible for Chicago to overpay Ben Wallace because they need him that badly. Their current center, Tyson Chandler, may be 7'1, but he is so scrawny that any good NBA center can own him in the paint. Besides, although they had a good draft, they failed to pick up a big man. And, like the Pistons, the Bulls mostly rely on their guards to score, so there is no need for Big Ben to put up monster numbers on offense. The Bulls are basically looking for a 10 pt. 10 reb. guy who can also get a few blocks and steals each game, and that's what Ben Wallace is.

Worse moves are made all the time, in search of a big man. In the East, seems like you'll need someone to defend Shaq if you're going to make a serious run at the title in the next couple of years. If you do get past Shaq, you'll need someone to stop Tim Duncan if the Spurs get there. Of course, you could see the Suns or Mavericks there, and might be better off playing smaller.

Are you serious? Ben Wallace is one of the best defensive players of all time. Not only is he a great defensive player he can score when it is expected of him. Not to mention the fact that besides numbers, on paper he looks like the typical nbdl player. How many 6'9 UNDRAFTED centers have you seen to win championships (as a leader) and make defensive player of the year 3 years in a row. It is COMPLETELY unheard of. Who cares if his wrists are bad or if he can't make free throws? SHAQ cant make them and he does his job well. As long as Ben can play with the same force who cares how much he makes. To make a long story short...HE IS WORTH EVERY PENNY!!!

Whatever Ben Wallace is paid he deserves. He has earned the right to the bigger money. I am tired of all these newbies coming in and not having proved anything and getting paid big bucks. He has put in the time and now he deserves the big bucks. Defensive player of the year deserves something. Without defense,I don't care how many points you score, you are not going to win. Defense rules!!!

sure. i'm satisfied the Pistons did not/couldn't up their furnish because i imagine the Bulls did overpay for him. he's growing old and not in any respect became a lot of an offensive participant. He fit in in Detroit notwithstanding and became very effective there. i imagine his leaving will damage the Pistons a lot more desirable than it facilitates the Bulls. Being a Detroit fan, I nevertheless can believe he bolted city over money. This from a guy who very few weeks in the past claimed he nevertheless wanted to be a Piston and who became beloved because the face of the 2004 international championship crew.

Come on, not one of the worst of all-time. He still dominates at the defensive end better than anyone in the NBA. defensive player of the year four out of the next five years. Come on.
He might be better off shooting his freethrows underhanded...or one handed...or lefthanded...or all three... Anything but constant bricks with his right...

he's not gettin overpaid. r u kidding me. his job on the court is not to score points on a daily basis. him scoring points is a bonus. his job out there is to get defensive and offensive rebounds, play good defense and bring his intensity to the game. and he helped the pistons go 2 2 NBA Finals.

The market decides the compensation. The GM decides how much they should pay for a players services.Athletes should get as much money as they can.An atletes career is a short one and he holds no gun to a GM's head.
