Maybe the other teams spend more time practicing penalties where England spend mroe time practicing the actual game and then because they aren't very good in the first place, they lose. Well getting to th quarter finals is quite good I suppose, must be a lot of luck involved considering how badly they played.(apparently)

Because they don't play well enough in the first 90 minutes or the additional 30, and end up GOING to penalties in the first place. The crowd was in their favor; they had the experience, the stars, everything...and they couldn't score a single goal, despite the repeating "God save the Queen" chorus.

the nation puts too much pressure on these players. They are expected to score every penalty which is way too much pressure. I mean, Gerrard and Lampard would not have missed had it been an ordinary penalty for their clubs.
Either that or the portuguese gk Ricardo is just that amazing! Maybe it would have been England's turn had it not been for Ricardo!

England players don't play well at all under pressure. Their mentality is pretty weak. They are paid too well to bother about stetching their performance.
They played far better down to 10 men - When they were expeceted to loose, they tend to do better. They are a spoiled useless bunch.

Actually you were lucky to go to penalty shootouts, because with just a little more luck Portugal could have won in regular time.

The team probably thinks they don't have to worry about many penalty kicks, so they don't practice hard on the kicks.

Funny how every one cries "cheaters" because their team was not good enough to beat them. Portugal players are not cheaters or scum...they were just better than England and thats why they won! Stop crying about it!!
