If you ask some scientists, they might tell you that they are electical stimulations in the brain, but that doesn't tell us much. That only tells us what they appear as in physical nature. It doesn't tell us how they came to be and how they got started. That answer gives no answer as far as how anything meaningful could end up in your mind. To me, saying that they are electrical stimulations is like explaining, when I ask someone what they wrote in an email, they answer that there were a bunch of letters (or better yet, pixels). That gives a technically accurate answer, but it's meaningless to me. I believe that any real meaningful thought in our minds (and the ability to use it and understand it, follow it, and think about it) can only come from God. He is the only place personhood and personality could have originated.

I have never thought what a thought was, but I do find that certain smells or images make me think of thoughts-and lots of thoughts/memories come flooding in.... so therefore, thoughts are first the past and then they make new thoughts for the present and the future.... lol....
