Has to be the New iPOD, they are the best quality of construction the best software, hold the most files and most importanly have the BEST audio output (although not the standard headphones use Shure or Sennheiser ones).
by the sound of it you have windows rather than mac as you are entering a serial no - the mac recognises new and additional ipods automatically (i know I have a 1st Gen ipod and a philips 512M thing).
the Creative sound output is flaky at best and they have buttons that fail after a short period!! so a longer battery life isnt that important afterall who listens to music for more than 10 hours without recharging it in one day!!

Ok, well if you really want an new MP3 player, I suggest you buy a 30GB Video iPod.....Here is the Pros and Cons I had told somebody else on Yahoo! Answers about the 30GB Video iPod, they were wondering if the iPod Video is worth it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Overall: Yes, the 30GB iPod Video is worth it, I have had one since January.
Pros: The clarity is amazing, and the sound is wonderful. It seems like the screen is to small but it isn't. If you buy the connection wires and hook it up to your TV the videos and songs are actually clear, I thought they would be incredibly blurry. The 60GB iPod holds 15000 songs, and the 30GB holds 7500 songs.
Cons: The battery life claims to be 14 hours long, but my only lasts 4 hours. And when you watch movies it sucks up the battery like a hungry tiger.
Solutions to the Cons: What I do if I am traveling is I buy a Cellboost battery pack from CompUSA for $7.99 each. They charge your iPod while you listen to it, (it supplies 8 hours of extra battery life). I highly recommend it.
If you are gonna watch movies or music videos on it, I suggest you should use the Cellboost battery pack.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If you don't want a new MP3 player I suggest you use the Cellboost battery pack, (described in the Pros and Cons) on your iPod Mini. Good Luck with whatever you decide! :-)

If battery life is a real factor, don't even consider iPod - even in whichever bl**dy generation we are on now they are still average. I have a Sony 20gb that genuinely gives me well over 30 hours at loud playback.
However Sony software is as bad as everyone says! so you do need patience with the player.
I would be tempted to have a look at creative, as I have been impressed with units I have had a play with, and they run well with windows, and they aren't the usual white earphone offering - plus you get a radio which is cool unless you use the tube!
Not sure about itunes - normally if the question is 'can I.....with itunes' the answer is NO - it may be great software to use, but don't try buying a new player, getting a new computer, having two iPods in your household etc - utterly ridiculous.
So Sony or Creative get my vote.

definately has to be ipod video, i own a ipod mini and my battery is failing, one of my friend's ipod minis battery is failing, when apple first tried to shrink the battery to get the mini, they didnt realise that they would cut short the otherwise extrememly good battery life on all other ipods. this was a silly move by them, anyay, back to the point, ipod video.
of course you can add a new ipod to itunes, connect it, itunes will ask for an ipod name, put that in, then put in the serial number, do registration, and you're off! itunes will just ask if this new ipod wants to be filled with the old library, click yes, and then within a few minutes ur whole library will be on the video ipod!
I know many people with the ipod video, and the battery life is amazing!

I'm not sure about which mp3 player is the best, I haven't heard as much about the Creative Zen Vision M so I can't really compare it well.
However, you can hook up a new ipod to your itunes. I beleive you can have your ipod connected to up to 5 different itunes libraries.

i used to have creative zen jukebox and now i have an ipod video. i would recommend the creative more because it was less hassle and less problems i encountered. make sure if you buy an ipod to backup your songs on either dvds or on a hard drive cos youll probably lose them down the line.

I would advise buying a gadget magazine such as stuff or T3. Dont let the cover fool you, its NOT a porno magazine. They do a lot of reviews, especially MP3 players. T3 is especially good for comparing products. Not sure about transferring i tunes though,
