You're kind of making a blanket statement there. I personally have gotten good help by using Yahoo Answers from people who are on here willing to give intelligent answers. And you always just have the option to not pick the not-so-good answers as the Best Answer.

I am a little concerned about the people out there and some of the questions they are asking ! Does anyone read books for entertainment anymore -- or are ALL the crazies on the internet trying to get attention?

yes it drives me crazy when people start answering with dumb answers that they just make up to get points thus deceiving the "asker".
I've also wondered if people actually have an issue or get stuck with some problem they don't know the answer to and think "I know I'll go on Yahoo Answers and ask a bunch of people that i don't know if they know what they're talking about".
i just come on here when I'm bored.

sorry if i make my answer look really big but it helps
many people will answer really dumb things under computers that won't work AT ALL (i am a computer genius and i have tons of experience)
some people (like me) use a lot of paretheses (sorry i spelled it wrong), a lot of internet slang (like me), and spell a lot of things wrong
but you have to answer before others so you get the 10 best answer points so we go really fast and sometimes we mess up
do you think that it is okay to use internet slang? i mean it is okay for internet chatting, blogs, forums, and groups but otherwise not really
sorry for the people who think that the people answering Yahoo! Answers' questions are stupid

Some are, some aren't. Its a pretty good cross section of America today. I agree that the misuse of English and dreadful spelling are horrible.

I know what you mean by that, people will just answer a question for points by putting random letters, it's kind of sad. You can report them if you want for somwthing I'm sure.

well yes, but still most people r just saying their opinion. but yea, some just have stupid answers and bad spelling bugs a lot of us.
