It is brilliant! Kicked out by Portugal, how embarrassing. At least *we* managed to score, and against the home team to boot!

I normally don't follow the norm (hate England just because I'm Argentinian), but after seeing all the insults fly our way on this very board, I'm happy they're gone.

Why do you feel like this about the English?? What have we done to rattle your cage?? And to answer your question; no it isn't. It's a sad way to lose and is pretty disappointing for us. However at least the roads round here won't get so congested before match kick off time with folks rushing to get to pubs, friends houses etc now that England are flying home. At the end of the game in the knock out stages someone has to win and someone has to lose, today we were the losers. Out of however many teams there were in the world cup only one will win in the end. Whoever you support, good luck.

Isn't it just brilliant that the English managed to keep Portugal from scoring for over an hour with 10 men? Quality over quantity?..most definitely!!
From your moronic question, I'm guessing it's because your country has never been good enough to qualify for the world cup..? Jealousy is really not a good trait to have!
Thanks for the 2points!!

England is the most overated team int he cup. plus portugal came in with nobody! their whole team was carded. SECOND OF ALL. they had beckham for half the time and he still did nothing. they lost the game not because of rooney or beckham btu because they are overrated and everyone was shocked. finally theyll be put in their place.

o and rooney is a hothead who needs to cool it.
imagine what portugal went through their last game, so dont cry over a lousy card for rooney (which he sorta deserved)
but nevertheless. imagine how portugal felt losing everybody to cards.

I'm a Scot...and funnily enough, a bit disappointed to see you out of it, but I have to say England waited too long to start trying hard.
..the question is, was it arrogance or penalties that put the troops out..or both?

That helps a great deal for fans who finance their trips using credit card, etc. They won't have to spend beyond their means. I think it's a good thing in this respect.

Absolutely.
Groundhog day.
England think they can win the World cup.
Nobody else does.
Moron fans claim cheating and riot in the streets.

Here in Scotland we are enjoying this.

No, not because I'm a football fan, but because now we have to face days of post match analysis/post mortems/ blame apportioning. Yawn.
