They might have very talented players, but the group around Ronaldo, Figo, Maniche, et al have to be the most unsportsmanlike group of players I have ever watched in the worldcup. Holland and England didn't deserve this. Englans, you played a great game, even without Rooney !

That's just wrong. I'm PRO fairplay which the Portugese players lack, I'm PRO France (very fair and they do not tend to roll around the floor in agony over a stepped-on toe) and PRO Germany. I'm PRO a lot of things, as in PRO choice, PRO universal health card et al. However, I'm an ANTI Portugal fan. And I'm not alone. All soccer fans I spoke to except Portugese fans think that Portugal is the worst offender when it comes to acting and enticing.

I think you should reevaluate your misplaced anger and change your behavior. You obviously watched the games with a strong bias against Portugal.
The Holland game was a disgrace because of the play by both teams who felt like they had to retaliate against each other during the match. The offical (who was correctly removed from further games by FIFA) elevated the level of aggression and fustration by issuing yellow and red cards for the most common fouls.
The main problems occurred after Holland attacked Ronaldo's leg with the studs the second time, knocking him out of the game with the thigh injury. The next problem was the play by Kyut to slide studs up into Riccardo. (On replay you can see he spread his legs in order to catch the keeper's leg rather that the ball.)
That's two seperate very unsportsman like plays by Holland that resulted in further retaliation.
Holland had a good team but clearly their strength was ball control which meant they needed to be playing with a lead. When they had to play from behind they were a much different team.
A very frustrated team and clearly out of character.
England played a decent game but certainly not a great game by any imagination. Both teams played a rather boring unaggresive ball control game plan with very little attacking. Even with a man down England believed their best option was to go over the top to Crouch and hope a 6' 7" striker could beat two defenders. Not a good plan.
Rooney is still imature as a player. His aggresiveness outweights his skills.
His hot-headed foul of stomping on another players groin was simply childlike. He is not suited for international play.
His style works much better in England's Premier League where Man. U players are able to get away with more fouls, because they are Man. U.
I hope this helps you to think differently my friend.

as for Maniche. he kept missing the goal by two feet or more. it was hilarious.
