yes it was foolish to use an argentinian ref in an English game if people cant see that they were biased against us then they must be blind. i hate the injustice and is you watch the reply you can see that rinaldo set rooney up in the very beginning of the game wen he head butted the back of his head , then look at his reaction wen he got sent off.

Amended answer: You're welcome, Grim. The "Invasiones Inglesas" (English Invasions) of 1806/1807 were some of the most fun history lessons I got in primary school. The flying boiling oil/water alone makes them interesting, and after the Falklands disaster it was something to be even *more* proud of.

Back on topic:
The ref was the fairest I've seen. There's really nobody neutral in this world; either they've been screwed by the English at some point, or they suck up to them, and that fact that you managed to tie with 10 men and not lose 10-0 means he was being fair.

Giddy flippin ant, here Jock F goes again, what is his problem??? He has bees in his bonnet, ants in his pants, someone seems to have rattled his cage and it doesn't help that his boxers are in a twist too... For goodness sake!

Anyway, to answer the question here, yes it was totally foolish - it goes without saying that you do NOT have an argentinian ref in a game involving England. And please folks, don't bother commenting on this topic unless you are either English or Argentinian, because it just doesn't concern you.

No, the ref. was pretty good. The tackle which appeared to be a penalty was not actually a penalty. Watch the video replay carefully. He hit the ball first not the player, so, it was a fair tackle. About the red card, well, it's controversial but I think you can't go about pushing other people in front of the referee.

Nationalities dont interfere in the game, the ref himself was fair for both sides and if he doesent he will loose his job like the others did.
Every ref has its own style but they dont change the result so much, football is simple, the team who scores more goals wins.

yes it was a stupid decision, even if he tried to be fair, the fact is he wasn't.

I would say the same thing about an english ref, referring an argentinian game. The fact is if he wasn't refering the game he would of been cheering for portugal to beat England. So to put him in charge was a terrible decision.

He was fair I think. As for Rooney, he needs anger management, lol. He, like a lot of players, needs to hang his head in shame.

I think we ought to change the rules slightly though and introduce a sin bin. It would be a fairer solution to flying around so many red cards in a World cup.

no way. that ref was the most fair one i have seen yet. it was clear that he wasnt paid off by any team and he did a great job. he gave cards to both sides when needed and he kept his eye on the game. hes been my favorite ref so far in the world cup.

This was the same ref who overruled the linesman's offside decision in the Switzerland South Korea game? He sucks! Who does that?! That linesman should have kicked him in the balls. He was not too bad tonight though.

No comment. Fed up with much of the bigotry I've seen pertaining to tonight's match on this site. Pointless.

I'll content myself with thanking Flor for providing me with information which, on checking, I found to be genuinely interesting. Cheers Flor.
