We exist because the right conditions at the right time were brought together - it's just biological. We could even say we are an odd thing to happen.

"why' implies a pre-ordained plan for our existence. There is no 'why' (in my opinion of course). There's not one scintella of evidence to prove an intelligent design to the universe or to our existence.

The only 'design' is see at work is the irreversible nature of the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics (AKA: entropy) and its corresponding corollaries found in Murphy's Law.
