I'm inclined to say at least 18 and finished with high school.
But older if you want to do more with your life than change diapers for the next 2 years. Think about schooling and any career options you might be interested in. Once you decide to conceive a baby, a lot of your options will be gone or at least made more complicated. If you are married, it's probably a good idea to wait two or three years.... to work out any kinks or problems. New babies can wreck havoc on even the strongest of marriages. So, the bottom line is..... at least 18, but older if you want your freedom longer. I had my first one at 26 and my second one at 34. Women can have babies up into their early 40's, but complications increase if you have babies too young or too old. Good luck to ya !!!

It's more a matter of ability rather than age. People shouldn't be having children until they are able to take care of and provide for them without incurring financial or mental hardship.

You wouldn't buy a car unless you could affort it, would you? Children are expensive.. There's more than enough worries involved with them without having to stress over where the next meal is coming from.

Devoted time is also a concern... In this day of age where television has become the new babysitter/teacher/companion, you shouldn't have a child unless you or (if married/attached) your spouse is able to spend atleast 12+ hours a day in regards to their care. Through the first six years of life, the child is developing their personality and mental capacities. The more work done here, the more care and energy spent, has better rammifications when the child hits their teen/addulthood years.

Some people are in this position when their younger.. Some older. Though I believe that nobody under the age of twenty-one should have a child. We aren't geared for it mentally, not anymore.

You should be old enough to be a mother. Having a baby takes no brains or special skills. Being a mother, however, is a full-time job and requires patience, love, determination and many other skills. You have to be an adult to be a mother. And even then, it's not easy. Your entire life has to revolve around the child until it can be on its own. So don't even think about having a baby until you're old enough to know what is ahead for you and the child.

It depends on your situation. I am on my second pregnancy and I am 35.

I highly recommend having a close and loving relationship with the father and a good marriage that is secure and stable both financially and emotionally before you get pregnant. It is such a great help to have a loving husband help you through the long months of pregnancy and the sleepless nights after the baby is born!

Trust me babies are great, but after you have a baby, they will be your life. I'm serious, life will revolve around them. "Me time" is a very rare thing as a mom. Wait until you know you're ready to settle down. And make sure that whomever you have your babies with will actually be there for you to help you raise and love them to the fullest.

You should be at the age when you are ready to give up your freedom, give up going out with your friends on a whim, give up be able to do whatever you want whenever you want to do it. You must be old enough to be able to get up through the night every 2 hours to feed/change a crying baby, constantly have stains on your clothes from puke, poop, pee, and formula and be ok with it, and not want to give up b/c you're too tired, you must be able to carry 5 things from the car at one time by yourself, you must be able to clean up puke, poop, drool, pee, and boogers without hesitation, you must be old enough to be able to handle giving up your life as you know it right now, because it will completely change, and you will no longer live for just you. And if you have to ask how old you should be to have a baby, my guess is you're not old enough sweetheart! You should definitely wait! If you want to be a really good mom one day, you will wait until you are old enough and mature enough to handle it, and when that time comes you won't have to ask this question, you will just know.

Definitely wait until you're out of high school if you're not already. I think the right age is diferent for everyone, but I think you should wait until you have a few things if you don't already:

1 enough love to give up your life for a child's
2 a husband who will love and support you and your child
3 finances to support a child
4 a home
5 resources for child care

Old enough to know that you should be making this decision for yourself, and preferably with a stable and loving partner, without the help of an on line community of people whom you've never met, and who will not be helping you raise your child.

At least 20. Your pelvic bones are not completely formed until then, so it would be too risky for you and especially for your baby, to deliver before 20 yrs. old.
