Who said this?

"While Saddam Hussein had nothing to do with the actual attacks on America, Saddam Hussein's Iraq was a part of the Middle East that was festering and unstable, [and] was part of the circumstances that created the problem on September 11."

By nothing, you mean that Iraq, under Saddam, never fostered any kind of terrorism what so ever? Never funded terrorist activities anywhere? Let us presume you are right, and Iraq had NOTHING to do what so ever with 9/11. Do you then mean to say that the US must first be attacked before we can act against a foreign power?

Someone should have told Clinton before he sent troops to Bosnia, or Somalia, etc...

But let's focus on Iraq. If they didn't attack us, why did Bill Clinton order 5 days of missile attacks on Baghdad?

Oh, I get it, if a Democrat does it, it is all right. If a Republican does it, it is the end of the world.

Stop listening to party talking points. Use your own mind. Both parties are guilty of using politics to divide this nation. Do not let them make you a sheep among the masses to be led about by the nose.

No. George W. Bush is certainly not the greatest President (by far), but I happen to still believe he was the best choice offered to us in the last 2 elections. Thank God we will never know how bad a Gore or Kerry administration would have been. People in the US should start to look towards a 3rd party, not polarize their allegiance to the GOP or DNC. Neither party seems to have the interest of the American people at heart, only which party will be in power for how long.

I'm actually wondering why the media isn't addressing this point. I don't think people realize it, because it isn't discussed, it isn't being reported, or acknowledge; people aren't aware. But your absolutely right, Iraq didn't have anything to do with 9/11, and more importantly, President Bush admitted it himself, he said, "We do not have any proof that Iraq had anything to do with 9/11."

There is a film out called, "Why We Fight," it's an incredible examination of US foreign policy, and further explores the US entry into Iraq. I highly recommend this film, whether you support the War or not. Nevertheless, it shows the post-9/11 White House press conference in which President Bush states that Iraq did not have anything to do with the 9/11 tragedy.

The Majority of Americans realize that the people of Iraq had nothing to do with planning or the excecution of the attacks. We full well understand that this was do to TERRORISTS. Keep in mind, that the majority of the world associates all Americans having the same view points as George Bush, which we don't and the majority of Americans do not support him.

Iraq had nothing to do with it, not because Saddam didn't try to get in on it but because Osama bin Laden saw right through Saddam and didn't like what he saw.

It is very easy for anyone to see that all of Saddam's actions are geared toward trying to gain the approval of the Arab people for himself (or at the very least their fear and respect). Osama on the other hand is trying to gain their praise for Allah, albeit in a very bad way morally. Osama is a true believer of Islam and Allah, but doesn't really understand its core tenents of peace. Saddam isn't even close to a true believer, and this causes Osama to look down on him. Osama would never let anyone who acts like Saddam does in on his plans and ideas, it isn't his personality. It is sad and frustrating really that someone who believes as strongly as Osama misunderstands Islam so much and so many had to die for it.

But then Bush sent hundreds of Americans, Iraqis, American allies to their deaths for daddy's revenge; so it is very sad and frustrating as well that someone who so believes in Christianity should fail to understand its core tenent of peace.

And for the first person who entered an answer, both realize and realise are correct spellings. Realise is the older spelling but it is still considered correct.

i dont think the majority of the american people believe that iraq had nothing to do with 9/11.

the way a lot of americans look at people is kinda "us and them" approach. us americans and them foreigners. if the perpetrators of 9/11 are muslim, dark skinned arabs, and the iraqi people are muslim, dark skinned arabs then there has to be a connection.

in addition the american administration was telling its people that there is a connection. from president bush's "he tried to kill my daddy" point of view, osama is an "evil doer" and sadam is an "evil doer" so here is another connection.

i am in no way defending the iraqi dictatorship. all i wish for is for the american administration is to tell it like it really is by stating their true intentions for going to war and not sugarcoat it for the american people, its really insulting to undermine their intelligence.

sadly most americans bought this crap and believed it. honestly they are not to be blamed, ignorance in world politics is really rampant among americans. when what there media is only telling them about whats happening in their backyard and who there president is sleeping with and such, that is to be expected.

Where's your proof? I hate when people like you act like they know everything. Were you in on it? I think not, so you don't actually know what you're talking about, whether you think you do, or not. No one does, everyone has their opinions and ideas, but you don't KNOW anything. Do you realize your question is stupid and you're just acting like a know it all?

and they didn't spell realize wrong, they must be British or something because that's the way they spell realize... or realise.

Do we realize that there was more complicity in Washington than in Baghdad? No. We have Hussein and Bin Laden confused. We should try to remember that Bush is friends with theBin Laden family and a sworn enemy of Hussein
