Some of the professional wrestlers have an actual amateur wrestling background or some form of training that may give them a shot in MMA.

Kurt Angle: 1996 Olympic Gold Medalist (not a WWE lie since he was shown on MTV years before he went to the organization sporting his gold medal with another wrestler who also took gold).

Brock Lesnar, Shelton Benjamin, Charlie Haas, Bobby Lashley: All- American college wrestlers (I believe that Lashley also served in the military and used his wrestling background to garner military accolades in competitions).

Steve Blackmon: martial arts black belt (unsure of style)

Goldberg was attempting to get into MMA, but so far I have not heard if he has been successful.

Daniel Puder tried to make the change from MMA to WWE, and even won one of the Tough Enough competition for $1 million and a WWE Developmental contract. His contract ended up getting canceled.

Some professional wrestlers may be able to hang against a MMA wrestler, and there is even the possibility that they could pull off a victory against one of them.
