Psychologically, have been proven to prefer the short term. Most people would prefer $1 right now to $10 a month from now, even though increasing your money ten-fold in a month is a rate of return most investors will kill for. Similarly, a large portion of the population file their taxes on the very last day.
How is this relevant to your question? Well, it addresses the global warming issue - no significant action will be taken until the point our survival is threatened DIRECTLY, and not by the cryptic-to-many prognostications of egg-headed boffins. It may well be too late by then (or in any case the cost of addressing the issue would be far, far, far greater than some preventative work done earlier), but this is just human nature - our propensity to dilly-dally and shirk our duties is one of our most strongly developed character traits.
As to world peace, that is impossible to achieve by any means short of everyone becoming mindless clones of one another. While free will and freedom of thought exist, people looking at the same set of facts will still continue to come to differing conclusions, thereby creating conflict and tension.
Arguably, many tensions can be resolved without resolving to physical violence, but I see no way to guarantee this to always be the case without, again, brainwashing everyone involved.
Violence is an unavoidable side-effect of freedom and individuality.

Global peace will happen when we stop advertising violence. ALL the programs on TV talk about bad things happening in the world. There isn't a SINGLE program talking about good things and peace. Violence is pushing others onto doing even more. When 9/11 happened (just taking it as an example) evryone was talking about the deaths. Why didn't they talk aout people that survived and people that helped the dead ones. By the way 9/11 started a war, in which MUCH more people died than in the 9/11 accident.

I don't think that the whole world will ever pitch in to stop global warming, and I think world peace is impossible. No matter what, there will always be bad people out there who have their differences. It's impossible to achieve world peace or anything close to it and I think our situation here on planet Earth is only getting worse as the days go by.

A long time.
Look how long it took for people to realize that smoking is harmful. The cigarette companies denied it for years, so they could continue to sell cigarettes. People still smoke, and the cigarette companies are still selling!
Developing nations like China and India are horrible polluters. The say it is not fair to put restrictions on them, that cost a lot of money and technology, that the developed world didn't have to face. Another words it is too inconvenient for them.
There are many Americans that still deny Global Warming, and their are scientists that will agree with them. The cigarette companies found similar scientists. Some polluters will have to be forced, buy laws to take measures to stop global warming.

The closest we'll ever be to world peace is when conflict stops because we're all dead (possibly by the global warming)

Not in this lifetime. Its probably gonna take a world war, and in the aftermath (if there are any survivors) people will start to realize that we definitely need to come together as a whole and be more earth conscious.

Any plan that requires EVERYONE to cooperate will fail, absolutely. Some people will reasonably disagree with your goals, some with your methods, and some just because they can. And some are ornery or crazy.
Try finding goals that can be accomplished by people who want to accomplish them instead of insisting that everyone else has to go along, because they never will.
You'll find that you get closer to your "big" goals if you work on your small ones than if you wait until everyone agrees with you, because if you do that you'll never actually get started.

The whole world will probably not get involved in these things, because people love war and dont respect the earth.
