ok if you ovulate and the sperm and the egg meet up somewhere between 7-10 days the fertilized egg implants in your uterus, my question is when do the hormones produced by pregnancy actualy begin to be produced? From the moment when the egg is fertilized OR after the egg implants into the uterus 7-10 days later?
So when exactly does my body start producing this hormone to be detected by a 4 day early pregnancy test
Thanks for the info

The egg produces the hormone once it implants into the uterus. That is why some women get false negatives early on. If the egg takes its own sweet time implanting it can be a few days before you get a positive test. Usually, once the egg is fertilized it makes it's way in 2-3 days into the uterus. It then takes about 7-10 days for the hormone to get high enough to show on a pregnancy test...

The hormone detected by EPTs is hCG (human Chorionic Gonadotropin). It begins production at conception-when the egg and sperm meet. It increases steadily from there and can be detected in a small number of women at a week post conception and by most all by 11 days post conception. Given that most women conceive mid cycle (day 14) you will most certainly be able to detect hCG levels with a EPT by the first day of a missed cycle. I hope that answers your question.

Just so you know-sperm is only viable for approx 72hr, and an egg makes its way from the ovary to the vagina in a few days, so your 7-10 day window is a bit too long, it is probably closer to 3 days :)

Depending on how soon the egg implants it self on you womb. You should be feeling the hormone changes the very next day.

From what I was told when I was trying to get pregnant, it starts to produce the hormone during implantation.

It starts after implantation. A few days after implantation the levels might be high enough to be detected.
