Most certainly...their commonality...stages of grief. Not only can one be grieving the passing of a friend but also of such things as an end to a friendship. What could have been, should have been, should not, etc....These feelings play upon our emotions and we can switch back and forth among these emotions.

yes a person can be sad, angry and in denial.
For example if ur girl friend doesnt speak to u .... naturally u get angry over her, then u'll be sad and feel denied by her
