It is a word that means either a hatred or fear (or both) of homosexuality!
There is a word for spiders, I cant be bothered to look it up , but the meaning is the same, a fear or hatred of!
There was a question on this forum about an hour ago ref homosexuals, I had the feeling it was just a 'wind up' that went wrong, a bunch of homos answered and they were not very happy! I thought I would give my support to the questioner, I typed it all up and tried to submit, only to find the question had been withdrawn!
I,m not sure if it was withdrawn by the questioner or by yahoo, but whatever reason it was certainly because of the 'flack' from the homo community!
So back to my originall question;- I can say I hate or fear spiders but I cant say I hate homos,? Homos are sexual deviants arent they? they deviate from the 'norm'
Can I say I hate pedeophiles ?( they are deviants ) do I have to have a list of different deviants to check before I say anything detremental about them?

I think I'll let this go on a bit longer!
Just a few points,I did not compare homos with pedeophiles except to say they were both classed as deviants.
I do think the subject would make a good book, it may be legal now but it wasnt not so long ago, and it still could be reversed!
The religious view point is not really an issue to me, I dont care what the bible says about anything at all.
The definition of the word homophbic is not mine it is the dictionarys, so any issues with that should be taken up with the dictionary, or do as some of you have already done, make up your own definition!
I happen to like spiders so I have nothing against them, I have an extreme dislike of same sex partners ! Right I'll leave you to it.

The word is artificial and was created by militant homosexuals in order to placate and insult normal and decent people.

There is no such thing as "homophobia", except in the twisted minds of people who have made homosexuality a new world religion.

An irrational fear of spiders is arachnophobia - and while in the summer it can be detrimental to your day-to-day living, it is not abusive.

If you had an irrational fear of lesbians and gays (you'd be paralysed in a cold sweat every time you saw one, for example - much like the arachnophobic), then it would be forgivable. Homophobia tends more to mean a hatred of homosexuals and homosexuality.

You are entitled to have that opinion. However, to espouse it in a public forum, in a manner where it will undoubtedly cause offence and hurt other individuals, is neither productive nor conducive to harmonious living.

If I were a misogynist and started spraffing on about how women were second class citizens...tie'em to the kitchen sink... who should obey my every whim, as a man, and be grateful for a good rogering as and when it pleased me, how would you feel and react?

Homosexuality is not illegal in the English speaking world, when practised consensually between persons over the age of consent. Paedophilia, however, cannot be classed as consensual. Children are not credited with the same ability of consent and the law rightly protects them. I think it crass and in poor taste that you should consider to compare the two.

Perhaps you could write a book on the topic, I'm not certain it would be published - and I don't think I would consider purchasing it.

Regards

Someones sexuality is not a good reason to hate a person, what if you had a male dog and you saw it mount another male dog you would get rid of it? Homosexuals deserve the same amount of respect as any other person. And, of course you can say that you hate pedophiles because what they are doing is illegal and wrong. I thought that homosexuality was not out of the "norm" now a days, I mean that there are gay people on t.v. and in movies and books. I bet that one of your friends are gay and you just don't know it, because if you are a homophobic why in gods name would any one tell you. Grow up, get with the times and except it. Homosexuality and lesbianism are here to stay!

Actually "homophobia" means "fear of man", or more colloquially, "fear of the same" or "the same fear". However, it is almost always used to mean some kind of bias (even without having any element of fear whatsoever) against homosexuals. It doesn't have to involve murder, assault, vandalism, job discrimination, housing discrimination, the use of pejorative & offensive nomenclature or even dissociation from people because of their homosexuality. It can simply be a matter of one opposing (for very sound, non-religious reasons) the idea of a relationship between two people of the same gender being accepted as a "marriage" with all the attendant benefits. "Homophobes" are very broadly lumped together and stereotyped as being stupid, ignorant, foolish, evil, demented, diabolical, wicked, vicious, violent and criminal religious fanatics. The result is that if a person shows any sign of "homophobia" in twenty-first century North America, she or he is in grave danger of being stalked, harrassed and threatend by security guards and police officers on college campuses, in public libraries, in parks and in shopping malls, with the likelihood of one being ejected and/ or banned from the establishment. The American people desperately and urgently need tobe reeducated about homophobes and homophobia. Homophobes have a great and distinguished history of which to be proud. There really should be homophobic student unions on college campuses. homophobic pride rallies and a Homophobic Pride MONTH to address the problem.

Is anyone truly afraid of a homosexual? I think this would be rare a fear they may impose their way on you to an extent if your smaller but other than that I think homophobia is somewhat overused. And not accepting it isn't fear or hatred of it. If I say I don't accept the gay lifestyle because it is a sin that is not hatred. I am not forcing you to become heterosexual. That is not fear or hatred it is simply stated that homosexuality is a sin and homosexuals don't seem to get it. Really If your going to be homosexual what do you care what the bible says anyway GO do it! Don't keep asking christians to approve of your homosexuality you don't need our approval. Accept the consequences of your decision and we will accept the consequences of deciding to be a straight monogamous Chrisitan. Don't tell us were homophobes becasue I don't fear or hate homosexuals, most of them are quite nice however I will stand on what I believe. It's a sin.

What always amazes me is that every time some narrow minded villagers like you judge homosexuality, you always but always, come with the intelligent argument of pedophiles...They have nothing to do with homosexuality, yes they both do something that is different from the majority, but it is like saying that since a soldier kills enemies that makes him a murderer no matter what...pedophiles are finger pointed not because they have a different sexuality but because their actions include abuse of minors, raping most of the time and the victims dont have any idea of what is happening...it is a crime indeed...In homosexuality no one is the "victim". Get this in your fu.cking little brain. Let people do what they want to do in their bedrooms...do they come and knock your door asking you to join them? OK maybe it is something you dont like and share...so what..if you find a building ugly you can just go and demolish it because you dont like it? Get a life and open your eyes...homosexuals have always been around and they are here to stay. Like black people were tormented in the past and now they get so many benefits...Keep on attacking us...you only encourage more benefits for us in the future...

It's not a dirty word - words can't be dirty.
Attitudes however can be hateful and ignorant which is what homophobic people are.

Are you 'the norm'? Then I'm proud to deviate from what you call 'the norm'.

Homosexuality is evident right across nature - that's proof enough for me how 'normal' it is. What is not 'normal' is bible-quoting freaks who say they follow a religion about love but spend all their time spreading hate. I pity them.

The Bible also tells people to smash children's heads off rocks - do you do that too?

for one thing i think referring a homosexual to a paedophile is totally wrong you may think of both of them to be sexual deviants but paedophilia is illegal and very very wrong, homosexuality is not a crime (as it used to be) it is recognised that ppl are free to choose to love someone of the same sex as them. it all comes down to personal choice and if you don't like that then so what! would you discriminate against someone who liked cheese just because you didn't, you may think that sounds silly and it's only a simple example but it amounts to the same thing. homophobes are ignorant ppl who's only fear is not having the capability to understand anything different. i hope you are happy in that closed little world of yours because the majority are living a much happier and free life, with an open mind and an open heart. i pity you.

While I believe that homosexuality is sexually deviant behavior, along with premarital sex, adultery, rape, pedophilia, necrophilia, and bestiality, I do NOT hate any of these people.

I wish no violence on them. Their own actions will condemn them.
Neither am I afraid of these people.
And neither do I insult them, or tolerate abusive language toward them.
I hate that the "in" thing to say when you dislike something is "that's so gay." No it's not.

But I will not tolerate being called narrow-minded if I choose not to celebrate a lifestyle that I do not agree with.

I allow other people their opinions, the courteous thing would be for them to allow me mine. Because if they do not agree with me, I am certainly not forcing them to live up to a certain standard.

I simply expect them to tolerate me as they expect me to tolerate them. (tolerance, by the way, does NOT mean to agree with and celebrate someone elses life choices, it merely means to let them live in peace with themselves.)

We do not live under the Mosaic law these days but that says that Homosexuals are to be stoned to death.

If God caused that to be written then he dissaproves of it.

If Homosexuality were correct and normal then the Human Race would DIE OUT in ONE generation
