Sniffing poppers can kill if it is done in excess. Poppers interact with blood pressure medicine and anything that thins blood in a bad way. She will get a headache. Do not give her tylenol for at least an hour after her last sniff or until her heart rate is normal. I sniffed them at age 16 while drinking alcohol and dancing at a bar that let me in. I lived through it just fine, and alcohol is a blood thinner. The most important thing you can do is find out who gave them to her. Why she used them and with whom she may have used them. Poppers are used by people who want to ease penetration during sexual activity. This can be dangerous because the person using them and being penetrated can be hurt and not even feel it. Not saying this is the case at all. Perhaps she just found them and wanted to try something new. Either way, this is drug experimentation and it should be addressed appropriately before it escalates. Try not to scare her while her heart rate is up. Save your interrogation for later. If she gets a headache, you may want to let her live with it for a while to teach her a lesson. A bad headache from poppers has kept me from ever using them again. Good luck to you!

Anything that makes your heart rate change dramatically (and the blood pressure too) can kill you if you have some pre-existing heart defect or weak spot in an artery wall in your brain... but normally Butyl Nitrate or Amyl Nitrate are not lethal drugs... people do them to get a "rush" and they are used to wake up people who have fainted. More distressing is merely the fact that your kid was so bored she just wanted to get high... hell, marijuana would be less harmful than poppers, but maybe you should have a long talk with her about the dangers of narcotics to her mental health as well as her physical health. There are tons of sites on the web that can help you with this.

Actually Amyl Nitates are NOT illegal, they have medical uses (Angina) and are designed to temporarilly raise heart-rate and then fade to normal. Sniffing too much (eg pouring the bottle into a bag and inhalinge for a long period will cause damage as it will remove the oxygen and cause asphysixation (like solvent abuse in general).
their main effect is to raise hear-rate and lower blood pressure if she has anormal heart (not hole in heart, or blocked arteries unlikly at 15) then they should be fine.
Just tell them the risks and advise them to play safe as all kids will experiment, if unsure talk to frank!!

Don't you know you are an abomination to The Lord? Also you should perhaps consider keeping your popers somewhere where your daughter can't find them. And how come you don't know the answer, do you use them? I'll pray for you and your wife.

I have no idea what you're talking about.
Have you ever thought about going to grade school and learning how to spell?
