Even when I was an adult, and I went to live temporarily in my fathers house until I could get moved into a place of my own in that state.... I abided by my father's rules of the house. That is simply a respect issue.

If the parent is still supporting the 18 year old, then the 18 year old should respect the parent's wishes. If the child does not like the house rules, then he/she is welcome to get a job and move out.

I think that it depends on what you're talking about. At 18, the child should be able to make many decisions on their own. There will be some decisions that the child might need their parents input, however, their parents should not make the decisions for them.

Legally no. They're 18 so they're considered and adult and they can do whatever they want. However if they're still living in your house you have the right to tell them to get the hell out if they aren't contributing. Hopefully, even though they are considered and 'adult' they have enough respect for you to keep being responsible, do as you ask and keep being a good son/daughter.

Teens need freedom so they don't end up craving the experience they missed out on later in life. There is some control, but to a limit. But they basically have their own freedom now, and that's something that should be respected.

If the teen lives in the home and depends on the parents ......yes
IF the teen live apart and made his/her own way in the world.....no, the parent moves to be a support to give adsvise. You have to rememeber being their age and how you felt at time to help them. if in 18 year you were unable to get to them, don't expect now
