I'd tend to think so. You're successful with your own business? It sounds like whatever took place happened a while ago and you've moved past it. As long as you are past it, and that you're honest with her and maybe her family as well, it shouldn't be a problem. People make mistakes all the time, but how often do you hear about the people who learn from their mistakes and go on to live happy, successful, productive lives?
Good luck.

Whether or not you are an ex-con or a successful businessman as nothing to do with it. What matters is what kind of person you are and how you treat her. How her family feels about you is just fine print.

Of course you are good enough, but with your past history, why would you want to cause such dissension in the family when there are millions of girls out there. If her father objects, this poor girl will live in constant turmoil between you and her father. Let her go and then you will grow. For every action there is a reaction, and if her father doesn't like this, then this is one of the reactions of the crime. God loves everyone and you too.

It may or may not matter to her, but I'd bet anything it matters to her dad. It probably also matters what you were convicted of -- are we talking posession of pot, or murder? If it's something non-violent and not fraud, then it's probably much less of an issue. Then the question becomes, how important is her dad's opinion to her? Is she still living at home?

First of all it would depend on what kind a crime you committed. If you were in for tax evasion that is drastically different than you being in prison for manslaughter. Be yourself...if yourself is now a good person people will see that and it should all work itself out.

People are people and the past is the past. The dad may not care for you, but in the end it is not his choice it is yours and hers. And speaking from experience...dads have a hard time liking anyone their daughters date.
