_Frogs_.
To dream of catching frogs, denotes carelessness in watching
after your health, which may cause no little distress among
those of your family.
To see frogs in the grass, denotes that you will have a pleasant
and even-tempered friend as your confidant and counselor.
To see a bullfrog, denotes, for a woman, marriage with a wealthy widower,
but there will be children with him to be cared for.
To see frogs in low marshy places, foretells trouble, but you
will overcome it by the kindness of others.
To dream of eating frogs, signifies fleeting joys and very little
gain from associating with some people.
To hear frogs, portends that you will go on a visit to friends,
but it will in the end prove fruitless of good.

Dream interpeting is tricky business. A frog may symbolize something very special to you that isn't found in ANY dream dictionary. Plus dream symbols can be puns. Like you need to "hop to it" (if you've been planning or putting something off). More genreal interpetations for the meaning however are:
*a potential to change or to do the unexpected.
*The frog may be a prince in disguise.
*The frog may suggest you need to do some cleaning.
*The frog may mean you've been jumping from one thing, person, or idea to another.
*You are taking major steps toward some goal.
*Carelessness concerning your health. (if you tired to catch him)
* Your visit with friends may not accomplish anything that you wanted it to.
*You need to take the "leap" on a risk.
So there are many possible reasons, but once you think about your life and current situation one or two of the meanings may jump out at you. The frog means ONLY what it means to you, so don't worry about if maybe you;re wrong about its meaning. Trust your instinct, if a feeling felt right or "clicked" as an a-ha momment then thats what the frog meant to you.
Hope that helped :)

There are really two main positions one can take on dreams. Ask a scientist and they'll tell you that they are totally random conglomerations that your brain struggles to make sense of. If you ask me, dreams may be just that, but the random pieces of information have to come from somewhere and they come from things we have on our mind. And as the brain struggles to put things back together it draws on personal experiences and previous knowledge. What your dream means really depends on you and what the frog was doing, what you were doing, what anybody/thing else was doing, everything. Things in dreams tend to be symbols and it can be different for every person. Frogs to one person could mean something totally different to another, it's a matter of circumstance and personal experience.

Hi Jacentra,
Frogs are not usually good symbols in dreams. They sometimes symbolize something that is unclean or evil.

Did you watch the special on Animal Planet last night about the frogs? If so, there's your answer. Sometimes if i fall asleep watching TV or go to bed right after, i tend to dream about what I recently veiwed on the last show.

if you are looking for a more spiritual symbolism, frogs have been an archetype for sex.
in fact, the frog was the favoured animal of aphrodite.
