the term used in this culture was short for "pick a n****r." before lynching was outlawed, white supremist would have family gatherings & part of the 'entertainment' was to ride into town, pick a black person (usually a man) & lynch him...& sometimes the lynching included burning him as well.
there is a book out called "Without Sanctuary." it's a pictorial with some really graphic pictures of all of it, with white folks standing around smiling at this tragedy.

Formerly, picnic meant a potluck, an entertainment at which each person contributed some dish to a common table for all to share. The first usage of the word was traced to a 16th century French text, describing a group of people dining in a restaurant who brought their own wine. The word picnic is based on the verb piquer which means 'pick' or 'peck' with the rhyming nique meaning "thing of little importance".

I believe that it means to "pick" (pic) at the food and "nic" I think means at small bits of food - ergo picnic.
Can say that I've ever really "picniced", I just jump in and eat and eat and eat.
Have a lovely rest of the day.

PICNIC is an acronym which stands for "Problem In Chair, Not In Computer".
It is most commonly used by experts to describe to one another that the problem was not in the computer but was instead caused by the user operating it.

In my eyes there is no Such thing. To "master" anything is to put A limit in your mind That there is no Need for improvement. To have "mastered" something is to have perfected it and perfection doesnt Exist. There is always A need for improvement and if you believe this Whole heartedly then your potential, involving anything, is limitless.
