If a singer sings so horrible then why is he famous?

Because music is art, it's very subjective. Like person who said Neil Diamond couldn't sing, I think he's great. To some prople the character in the singers voice may be more important than the tone. Or sometimes it's picking good songs, I don't think Madonna has a great voice but she always picks songs that compliment her.

It is all about Marketing. You can be a great singer but not have "the look" and they will not go far. However, singer like Britt Spears, and now The Hogan chick get famous because they have a certain look, and little talent.

Because most people nowadays only think about looks and they want to hear nasty lyrics. 50 Cent and D4L are good examples of this, damn they suck. Rap isn't supposed to be about nasty crap like that! I like rap but people like these just ruin it.
