I just bought a Sears Kenmore Model 1410 Zig Zag Sewing Machine, I know it's old but I can't find the year anywhere in the Instructions Booklet. I was wondering if anyone knew what year(s) that model was made?

This question has gone a week without an answer. Sears is notorious for not making information like this available on the internet. It is all but impossible to get things like PDF copies of owners manuals etc. from them. Their customer service department usually isn't much help with questions like yours either.

Part of the problem stems from the fact that Sears manufacturs nothing. They contract with various manufacturers around the world to make items under the Sears brand names such as "Kenmore", "Craftsman", etc.. Your sewing machine may very well have been made by Singer or another well known brand.

Best advice is to do a Yahoo search for "vintage sewing machines" (include the quotation marks). You will bet 39,700 results and I'm sure if you do a little exploring, you will quickly get the information you seek.

Good luck with your search.

I purchased my Sears Kenmore 1410 machine in 1972. It was my first machine and I still have it
