Wrigley Field is the largest sports bar in the U.S. I have been to Wrigley to watch baseball. The Cubs "fans" are there because they might as well spend their welfare checks on expensive beer and getting a tan at all of those day games. It is a good thing that they play in the daytime. In that neighborhood, I would not want to be out at night.

I do not know where you get your information, but I have been going to Wrigley since the 80's and I have not seen that many people there that did not like baseball, I am sure there are a few but that is anywhere, I donot like basketball, but I have been to a Bull's game with my boyfriend. And as far as being safe at night Wrigleyville is not dangerous!

They go there because it is the thing to do. They arent fans or else they wouldnt continually sell out the stadium when ownership isnt trying to win. They also need to fire Dusty Baker, completley rebuild. Get a whole new pitching staff. The stadium is a dump as well.

you've answered your own question in the explanation. They come to get drunk, and then leave the stadium after a cubs loss to go to the many bars that surround the place to drink some more.

Because there's about ,oh,60 places in the surrounding area to get drunk in.The train station is right by it,there are stands(for anyone who didn't know) on top of apartment buldings across the street where you pay a little fee to watch the game from.Half-way decent public transportation is next to it also.Oh one more thing,McDonald's is across the street from it!
