I think that a Mac Powerbook would be very good to get, if you don't mind the fact that it is Mac. I personally love the Apple computers, but I will be going to a college with Microsoft systems and files can be hard to convert.

Anything but a Dell. They have bad quality laptops and their tech support is very very bad. No they don't make good laptops. They don't even make their own laptops. Try dealing with the idiots in India reading from flow charts to help fix your laptop. Check Cnet and you'll see Dell sucks. The Tech guy even had problems understanding basic Windows concepts! I would probably take a look at Apple Macbook Pro. You can even run Windows if needed too.

I would go with Dell on this one and Toshiba next. HP doesn't have reliable services and their laptops ( from loads of people I know) have always had the screen burn out after just a year. To replace the screen would take a huge amount of money.

I have a dell laptop..and its very good. But i also like the apple company..but i like them for ipods..adn 4 laptops...dell.
