When I peirced mine last year, I did it with a safety pin. I just kinda stabbed it through. Most likely, not the smartest idea in the universe, but it worked great for me- no infections or complications whatsoever. However, it takes a long time to get the safety pin through, and it hurts a lot. (I like pain- if you don't I don't recommend doing this yourself.) If you do it, leave the safety pin for a few days, at least- I didn't, and putting the ring in the next day was almost like repeircing it- with a dull object. Anyhow, it worked great for me- you can email or IM me with any specific questions, I don't care- good luck!

If you do keep in mind it will be crooked, it is physically impossable to pierce your own navel straight, not only that you have to be laying down with your head down. It is not adviseable to pierce it yourself.
Rubbing alcohol, fire, and boiling do not kill the staph infection which is the number one cause of infections in piercings. Please rethink this, it is a bad idea.

It is not that expensive to have it professionally done. Earn some money and have it done right. Then make sure to follow all the directions for care until it is healed.

i don't think you should pierce it on your own cus i have a friend who did that and she didn't get enough skin so it felt as if it was about the rip off. so i say you should go to a pro.

no advised but you need to have a curved needle a large one and you need to have the belly ring directly follow the needle into the belly ring hole

One answer for ya, You don't! You risk major infection if you try to do it your self. Sure it is cheaper than going to have it prof. done, but do you want to risk infection???? I wouldn't.
