The Chicago Bears have not had cheerleaders since 1986. They were eliminated by the team President - Edward McCaskey because he was a devote Catholic and did not like the cheerleading show on the sidelines. Ed took over the team after Pap Bear George Halas died on Halloween October 31st, 1983.
From what I have read and heard - there will never be cheerleaders for the Bears while a McCaskey owns the team.

Steelers, Browns, Giants, Bears, and Lions have no cheerleaders Jets introduced the the 'NY Jets Flight Crew' in 2006-2007. Packers uses cheerleaders from a local college.

The Steelers have won 5 SUPERBOWLS with NO Cheerleaders, during that span. So are they now not a REAL team? The Rooney's are one of the most respected group of owners. So because they don't bring in cheerleaders they don't have a REAL team? That is an intresting set of qualifications. They actually were, I believe, the first or one of the first PRO teams to have Cheerleaders. Boy were those different times though if you read about it. Totally covered. The Steelers also had a rule that the Cheerleaders had to be single, and the one girl agreed to quit when she was getting married. She accept that was the rule. They got rid of them after a few years, and it was actually college cheerleaders.
