Hoping to figure out how to help this team. In a 14 team 5x5 roto there are not many available people to pick up so I grab rookies as they come up. I am bouncing between 2nd and 3rd place all season so far. Need to bring era and whip down. I think. Any suggestions? I understand you not knowing who are free agents but I could advance most with more runs and rbi's as well as era and whip. Or offering trades. Thanks.

What I would do is to dumb some positional players that are sitting on the bench, and beef up your line up with some solid SP who would get you some wins and K's. You can only have 9 players batting on any given day or week... all you need may be one or two extra bodies. If you have more pitching, at least you can stack up on wins and K's, and all the other pitching stats.

Good team, not great. But for a 14 team 5x5 roto league, it's not that all bad, actually, quite good. I would add a big name in there. Other than Pujols, u have none.
Your needs:
HRs and RBIs
Try trading for C. Beltran. Maybe for C. Granderson. He's a good player, but u need to make some adjustments for HRs. Maybe trade B. Lidge and C. Granderson?? Probably not, but maybe u'll get lucky.
I tried to trade B. Colon for T. Gordon, I got it. And I gave G. Atkins and D. Lowe for D. Wright, he said yes.
So u never noe.U don't have trade bait, maybe try trading
A. Pujols for like C. Delgado and ask for another guy, maybe like M. Holliday, he gives u BA, HRs, RBIs, and some SBs.
Good luck. 2nd and 3rd places r'nt bad.
btw, i also have C. Capuano and Jo. Johnson as my 2 SP.

if you're solid in the wins/Ks categories, you can try picking up the top RPs out there. they don't need to be closers but as long as they throw 1-2 scoreless innings a few times per week, that should help.

as far as runs/rbis go, all you really have is pujols. the rest aren't really big offensive threats at all. with 14 ppl and roster sizes that big, i doubt there's any one worth picking up that can help you. you're best bet is to probably make trades.

I would start Lopez over Mike Napoli. My rule for starting or picking up players, is that if you have never heard of them, dont pick them up.
