My daugthter and I have not lived with my estranged husband for 20 months yet he filed a joint return , forged my signiture, and claimed us both as dependents. He is not an American citizen but has a green card. Can he be deported for this?

yes and its a felony and a federal offense to defraud the government. the only way anyone can claim dependants is if the dependants live with the person or 50 percent of your pay goes to care for the dependants. you should contact the irs, department of justice which has a fraud division and they will take care of it and you can contact the u.s. attorney generals office.

i don't know about deported but uncle sam will probably want to tax and penalize the heck out of him, that is if you filed yourself. if no one else claimed you uncle may be more lenient. sounds like you want to get even for something - just remember what goes around comes around

I would think this could be considered tax fraud, which could be a federal offense. He might could get deported, I'm not sure of the law, but I'm sure it would be considered a federal offense.
