No!

We can not win this war without being untrue to ourselves and our values as a Nation and a society. We can not just murder people into submission. So we are forced to play this stupid game of uncle.

We are forced to see who can be the meanest, most heartless and ruthless killers without appearing to be so. Our troops are being asked to do an impossible job. They are in a no-win situation. You can, if you look, see the morale of our Military going down the drain. Torture, abuse, murders and rapes of civilians is a symptom of worsing morale among the troops.

The enemies realize they have to fight us with non-traditional guerrilla style warfare. And because the war is taking place general inside villages, towns and cities, the casualties are high among civilians.

For every civilian we kill, we make new enemies determined to fight us with vengeance's. Of course, we would react the same way if a foreign power sent troops to control American. But somehow our leaders do not see this or understand this reality.

We are going to lose this war because this war is not the war the leadership planned to win. Face it, they had no idea what they were getting us into. Attrition is going to wear us down in terms of lost life and drained treasury and exhausted troops.

Because this Iraq War is such an ugle, hateful, bloody and nearly incomprehensible mistake, this war hopefully well be a bookend war to the Vietnam War marking a period of American disconnect in our foriegn policy.

We can not bomb our way to a safer or a better world. We can buy our way to more security. If we want to be a first class Nation with a strong measure of acceptance in the world, we have to lead by example, we have to care about others. We have error on side of reciprocity, and we have cultivate friendships and understanding among Nations.

Yooerpooper, I hate to break it to you, but Congress DID declare war. Remember John Kerry's "I voted for the war before I voted against it?" Anyway, yes we are going to win this war, in fact we are already winning it. If you talk to people who have been over there, most will tell you that. It's the media that doesn't seem to want us to realize we are winning.

how do you win a quagmire?
Our troops are stuck in a no-win situation, unable to tell friend from foe, expected to build a nation for people who want them to die, and damned if they do and damned if they dont
There is no way to win in hell

Let's hope so. It would be more of a disaster to lose it.
