I bought Dr. Suess books for my Daughter when she was little. I know that I used to read an awful lot, and I shared good books with my friends and bought some as gifts, but darned if I remember any of the titles. Recently I bought a new Bible for myself and Dr. Phil's Self Matters book and workbook. Last Christmas I bought Dr. Phil's Family First and wrote an inscription on the inside jacket for my Daughter and her then Fiance'. They are married now and have my beautiful Grandson. My Daughter's favorite book was "Green Eggs and Ham"!

I love that idea!

I think the best book I ever bought someone was when I picked up the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series in paperback for my bf. I think we've read it 10 times between us.

You picked a great book for sure, and depending on their age i'd pick that or perhaps Animal Farm myself, but all in all i'd have to go with Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand, for an all purpose answer.
