I am working on a video project and its size is a little bit over 4.7 GB. Does anyone know how to fit on 1 DVD (4.7 GB)?

If you were able to re-encode the project at a slightly lower resolution/screen size, you might be able to squeeze the file size down to just fit it on a DVD.

4.7GB is the unformatted disk size typically you can only get 4.33GB approx on a 4.7GB disk you can buy larger capacity DVDs see www.dabs.com quiklinx code 3x5Q thats a 240minute 2.f speed DVD+R DL (providing your DVD burner supports DL disks)
you may like to try www.divx.com for the video creator that is a good compressor supported on some but not all modern and i should say newer DVD players.
assuming your project is video try using the mindows built in movie editor to cut your file size down if you can.
your looking at losing about 4hundred MB at a guess to fit on a 4.7/4.33GB disk or if your project is video then you can use nero to select the best recording quality for your project. good beter or best typically if i recall correctly best is the largest file size while good is better than an old cassette recording it's more like that achieved by a good PVR. or hard drive recording on a media centre PC.
