War is only necessary when you are under imminent threat of death/torture/etc. Incidentally, this justifies the actions of insurgents and civilains in Iraq and yet not the American invaders.

Funny how it works both ways?

Very few believe war is okay, so I don't understand that statement. When diplomatic relations and sanctions have gone as far as they can go then it then becomes a necessary solution. For example we (the coalition) gave the dictator in Iraq14 years of chances as he ignored one UN (not US) resolution after another. He continued on with his torture and genocide, which has been seen in evidence. The complaining didn't start until we had enough and the Iraqi Dictator along with his paid cronies in France, Russia, and Germany realized we weren't going to overlook the criminal activity any longer to the detriment of the Iraqi citizens. Those three countries voted again against this current war not because of any peace love movement, but because they were skimming billions from the oil for food program, paid for by us all. So don't sit there and try and get all indignant in regards to this war not being fought anywhere but Iraq. I just wish the people would get behind this, so the free people in Iraq could get their own security forces to a strength that will allow us to leave them be. This would happen sooner, but the help we requested again was voted down. I guess they are mad because we cut off their money supply.

Would you like it to happen in your land? I'm not saying war is ok, but sometimes it is necessary. I do not want our innocent people getting killed. If innocent people have to die, I say let it be the Iraqi's. Protect your own before others!

I, for one, prefer diplomatic solutions to international affairs. But unfortunately, war seems to be the only language that some of our enemies understand. That said, if the War on Terror is going to be fought anywhere then I more than prefer that it be fought on their land rather than ours.

"No war, whether just or unjust, can be denied that its a crime"
Winston Churchill said somethng like that...i cant remember how it goes exactly.

war is never right and ok, but often times it is necessary and just. while diplomacy is the best solution, sometimes a nation must flex its military muscle every so often.
