First of all, we need to stop listening to people like Al Gore. This man, although sincere, (I think, well maybe not) makes a movie that is full of fiction not fact. People need to do their own research not listen to someone who could have another agenda, like running for president. Look at my list of source and read what the people to do do the research and studying of the global warming. See what they have to say.

Here is the best answer that you will get. People will stop worrying about global warming when there is no longer an advertising market behind it. Think about how much people spend to "save the planet" from "global warming."

People shouldn't WORRY about global warming. Worrying won't affect any change at all. They should step up and do their part to save the planet. Al Gore is not running a presidential campaign, as quoted by one of your respondents. If you saw his movie, you'd realize that he's been on this bandwagon for over 30 years, since he was in university. Ignorance isn't the answer ... small changes in everyone's daily life is the answer. When we reach critical mass for doing something positive for our home planet, global warming will begin to reverse. I wonder what it's going to take to motivate people. It can be likened to the diabetic who doesn't watch their diet until they're threatened with possible death. Or the sugar and fat addict who does nothing until AFTER the heart attack. Wake up, people!

People will quit worrying about it when we all live in space. That's about it.
People love to have something to worry about, and if they think they can "do something" about it, then they can cling to it and feel powerful.
It doesn't matter if they can do something, or if they should, it matters that they think they can and should.
Unfortunately climate science has become a "religion," and so you can't seem to have an intelligent discussion on it anymore, it just becomes a shouting match. Which means that if humans aren't causing it, then we'll spend billions and wreck our lives trying in vain to fight against a couple of degree change in the weather, and if we are causing it, we'll probably make it worse with ham-handed policies based more on ideology than science.
Edit: Look at smog in LA in 1970. Look at smog in LA now. Right direction or wrong direction?
Your kids will be wearing a mask for clean air and a suit to protect them from the sun - if they live in space, or on Mars.

For one, trying to fix the issue, making more things that don't add to the problem... using less fossil fuels. You have to work at fixing the issue before you can stop thinking about it or it will bite you in the butt later.
And second.... don't you want a place for your kids and your grand-kids to live that doesn't involve them wearing a mask to breath fresh air. And wearing a suit just to go outside to play because the sun will burn their skin, from you and everyone else in the world, just trying to shut people up about it. If you want people to stop worrying about it, then be someone to help fix it.

We can't as it is a huge problem that burying our heads in the sand is not going to make it go away.
Think about our kids and their kids!
