If you are 9
Age Restriction
Yahoo! is concerned about the safety and privacy of all its users, particularly children. For this reason, parents of children under the age of 13 who wish to allow their children access to the Service must create a Yahoo! Family Account. When you create a Yahoo! Family Account and add your child to the account, you certify that you are at least 18 years old and that you are the legal guardian of the child/children listed on the Yahoo! Family Account. By adding a child to your Yahoo! Family Account, you also give your child permission to access many of the Services including email, message boards, and instant messaging (among others). Please remember that the Service is designed to appeal to a broad audience. Accordingly, as the legal guardian, it is your responsibility to determine whether any of the Services and/or Content are appropriate for your child.

its in the Community Guidelines... a violation could end YAHOO use for your whole family... try playing outside... read a book, age appropriate....

No I don't think so. Sometimes questions come up that wouldn't be age appropriate for a nine year old. Also you need a yahoo email account...And you need to be 13 to have one of those. So TECHNICALLY a nine year old isn't even supposed to be on here lawfully. Unless its a yahoo family account.

No. Even if a 9 yr old can probably spell better than a lot of the adults on here. There's too much trash on here for lil kids.

Only if the 9 - year old is being supervised by an adult. Also, all responses should be pre-screened before letting the child read them.

Here's an advice: Never give personal information. Not even your e-mail.

Clearly stated for users 13 & up. I personally think anyone under 14 should have their parent sitting next to them.

Absoutely, but it is like playing in the city. You have to learn some street smarts to tell the nice folks from the scammers.

Be careful, watch yourself and explore
